| History: Dan Cannon and Damien Elder shared a large interest in the paranormal but had more questions than answers about what was out there and exactly WHY it was out there. This resulted in them buying some research equipment and attempting to join a local paranormal group. After realizing that most the groups in the area were heavily into psychics, empaths, mystics, dousing rods, religious exorcisms, priests, and other techniques that do not reflect the hard data type of scientific evidence that they were looking to collect, they decided maybe starting their own group was the best option. Our Process: The Paranormal Research Team was developed as a way for us to investigate the unexplained or paranormal in a scientific manner. All groups claim to use "scientific methods" and "debunking" yet most of them employ very unscientific practices and/or poor debunking skills during their investigating and evidence collection process. Our motto is WWED "What Would Einstein Do?" When we investigate to try and find answers to our questions we consider what the great scientists in history would do to try and collect the hard data they needed to figure out what they were dealing with. If Einstein or Hawking was in our shoes right now trying to solve this riddle of the paranormal, what would they use? What would they try? How would they collect evidence? And what would they actually consider evidence? They would not show the scientific community at large footage of some psychic talking about a tragic past in a random building that cannot be proven, or someone walking around with dousing rods being "drawn" to "entities". They would first try to collect hard physical data on solid media to capture proof of the unexplained, and then try to figure out what would be the cause of this happening, and attempt to find a logical explanation through a purely scientific means of discovery. Our Goals: We would eventually like to see the scientific community as a whole find a definitive explanation for the paranormal. Our part in this is to help discover through investigations, enough undeniable hard data evidence, that we would be able to show the scientific community in order to peak their interest to do so. That being the long term more ambitious goal of course, our main reason for doing this is to answer many burning questions we have about the paranormal, and the unexplained for our own personal reasons. |
